Clearing House - new online system

The new online Clearing House system is now up and running. From now on all processes will take place online. No more paper forms! To get an idea about the new system and assess whether you will require access to it, please take a look at the guidance on

www.clearinghouseonline.org.uk

. Click the link which applies to your organization for the appropriate guidelines.

In order for you to be able to use the system we will need to set you up with a login. We will start setting up those who wish to access it from 5th January. If you consider that you require a login please email the following details to ch@broadwaylondon.org.

  • Email address
  • Job title
  • Phone number
  • Office address

Our aim will be to set up all users within 24 hours, however, please note that during the start up phase we will receive a high number of requests and it may take a little longer.

It is important that all users have a unique login, and there is no limit to the amount of logins your team can have.

I’d like to acknowledge and thank everyone for the patience you have demonstrated during the transition to the new arrangements – we are aware the system has been a long time coming and are grateful for your input and patience.

What we do

The Clearing House provides and co-ordinates the lettings service for all the permanent accommodation provided by housing associations under the Government’s Rough Sleepers Initiative (RSI). From 2nd September 2008, this will be entirely run using an online system. For updates about the changes please visit the Clearing House Updates page.

Our aim is to ensure that this accommodation is allocated and available to single homeless people who have slept rough or are sleeping rough on the streets of London.

Our task is to match homeless people, who meet the RSI criteria, to suitable accommodation; and to work with partner agencies to identify the most appropriate way to work with tenants towards the goal of independent living.

The Initiative has already generated a pool of around 3,950 one bed and studio flats, bedsits and rooms. Approximately 70 housing associations have been involved in developing the housing for rough sleepers. Over 30 charities refer homeless people to the Clearing House for housing. Over the coming year the Clearing House is hoping to increase the pool by adding around 350 properties, sourced from the private sector through Private Sector Leasing arrangements.
